Abia Govt breaks silence on Gov Ikpeazu’s sickness rumours

Following the rumour making the rounds for over a month now that Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu is sick and bedridden, the state government has finally spoken out to deny such.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Barr. Onyebuchi Ememanka Esq while refuting the rumour in a release made available to newsmen urged all Abians to disregard the rumour their governor is sick and bedridden.
Ememanka said that Gov. Ikpeazu is hale and hearty and discharging the duties of the office with zeal, zest and passion, as he has done since 2015.
He went on to describe those carrying the rumours as political fifth columnists and agents of destabilization whose stock in trade is to spin rumour mills and trade on falsehood.
The release reads”Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, PhD, Governor of Abia State is hale and hearty, and discharging the duties of the office of Governor of Abia State with zeal, zest and passion, as he has done since 2015.
“The Governor had a busy schedule yesterday attending to a long line of official visitors who came to Government House Umuahia.
“Those carrying the rumor that the Governor is sick and bedridden are political fifth columnists and agents of destabilization whose stock in trade is to spin rumor mills and trade on falsehood.
“The unfortunate news they have been spreading exist only in their disjointed imaginations.
“The good people of Abia State are advised to completely disregard these agents of confusion and their evil machinations.
“Your Governor is in perfect state of health and is prepared to challenge any of those spreading the rumour to a game of soccer.
