For fear of the unknown the embattled Chief Medical Director of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, UNTH, Ituku-Ozalla Dr. Christopher Amah quickly arranged and payed part payment of the arrears.
The protesting Resident Doctors carried placards protesting non payment of five months salaries arrears owed them by the hospital management.
At the point the doctors were about briefing the media on their grievances alerts started to hit their phones prompting them to suspend the briefing and pleaded the newsmen to give them time to reassess the situation.
Everyday News later gathered that the alert was a part payment of the arrears.
Our source revealed that some people were paid April while some owed 3 months before April were not paid.
It was also revealed that some doctors were under paid just as the doctors threaten to address the Press on a later date.
The resident doctors during their last protest lamented the decay in the hospital.
