MASSOB condemns attack on Igbos in Lagos

Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has condemned the attack on Igbo’s in Lagos state.
In a statement made available to Everyday News in Enugu MASSOB said “it is unfortunate that the people we thought that we share the same political predicament with in Nigeria has turned against our people in Lagos.
MASSOB’s National Director Of Information Comrade Edeson Samuel who signed the statement described the attack which he said was because they exercised their civic rights, as irresponsible and unreasonable.
“MASSOB blames Bola Tinubu and his APC political thugs for this politically and tribal sponsored attack on Ndigbo in Lagos.
“We urge Igbo’s in Lagos to be vigilant and to defend themselves with every material resources available with them.
“The order by the leader of OPC (MC Olu Omo) in Oshodi area that all the shops owned by Ndigbo must remain closed is a clear attempt to intimidate Igbo traders in Oshodi and other areas of Lagos state.
“Though the leadership of the Afenifere has condemned the attack we regret that the attack is still going on without their intervention.
“MASSOB has never disrupted any Yoruba person or attacked their business in Biafra land. We shall no longer allow aggressive attack on our people again.
“Igbo’s developed Lagos and we can’t be pushed away. MASSOB is also advising Ndigbo where ever they are to always be security conscious and to defend themselves. Why must Ndigbo be attacked before, during and after elections in Nigeria.              “In 2015, Yorubas through their traditional ruler threatened our people that Igbo’s must vote for APC or they will be driven to the lagoon. Since Yoruba leaders are keeping quiet over this tribal war against Ndigbo, we should not be blamed for any devastating calamity that may befall Lagos.
