Umahi re appoints Head of Service, 21 others

Ebonyi State Governor, Chief David Umahi Tuesday announced the reappointment of the State Head of Service, Dr. Chamberlain Nwele and 21 other new political appointees into his cabinet.
Dr. Chamberlain Nwele was appointed as the Head of Service during Governor Umahi’s first term in office, a position he held before the dissolution of the last cabinet members.
Those who also made the list of the Governors appointment includes former members of the State House of Assembly who were dropped during the last People’s Democratic Party primary in the state.
The former House members who are now Senior Special Assistant to the Governor includes, the former Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Valentine Okike Uzor.
Four other former members of the House are Hon Frank Onwe, Hon Julius Nwokpor, the Former House Leader, Hon Joseph Nwobasi and the former Chief Whip, Hon Chike Imo Ogiji.
Also named in the appointments are Okechukwu Nwakpu who is to serve as Deputy Chief of Staff while Mr. Emmanuel Obasi was re-appointed as the Deputy Principal Secretary.
Some other trusted aides of the governor in his first tenure were also re-appointed.
They include Mr Ali Odefa-Senior Special Assistant, Ogbuefi Enekwachi Akpa-Senior Special Assistant, Silas Emeka Onu-Special Assistant, Gideon Onwe-Special Assistant, Mark Onu-Special Assistant and Martins Okwuegbu-Special Assistant.
Mrs Jennifer Adibe-Nwafor, the Chairman of Inter Party Advisory Council, (IPAC) Chairman in the state was also named as Special Assistant.
Others are Emeka Nwode-Senior Special Assistant,  Nwaze Okechukwu Joseph-Special Assistant, Edwin Onwe-Special Assistant, Onyeabor Ngene-Special Assistant, Chris Uchaji-Special Assistant, Mr. Agwu Igwe Nweze-Special Assistant, and Mr Stephen Nweze-Personal Assistant.
A statement by the Principal Secretary to the Governor, Clement Nweke said the appointees will be sworn-in Wednesday at the Executive Council Chambers, Government House, Abakaliki by 1pm.
