The Enugu Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, ECCIMA has expressed hope that the upcoming 31st International Trade Fair would be a success despite challenges in the economic environment especially the closing down of the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
Briefing newsmen in Enugu on Wednesday, the President of ECCIMA, sir Emeka Nwandu said that streams of interest from corporate organisations, parastatals, and institutions have been declaring interest to participate in the Fair.
The theme of this year’s Fair is, “Advancing the Growth of SMEs through Corporate Governance for Rapid Economic Development”.
Nwandu highlighted some of the focal points of the Fair to include but not limited to a more robust online registration platform for immediate online space allocation to participants, boosting technological advancement by encouraging the participation f researchers, innovators, and creative thinkers as a nexus towards commercialization of research findings, including indulgence in the. Digital space amongst other.
Mr. Nwandu while answering questions from newsmen, said that ECCIMA is partnering with the Enugu state University Teaching Hospital, Park Lane and other health institutions, to check the possible spread of the Corona Virus at the fair as thermal heat sensors shall be put in place to help dictate people with high body temperature.
The Fair will be opened on Friday, 13th March and run through Monday 23rd March, 2020.
