Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide led by its Supreme leader, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro, has lauded the Buhari led government for its commitment in fixing dilapidated federal roads in the South East.
In a statement signed by Comrade Obinna Achionye, Deputy President General Ohanaeze Ndigbo Youth Council Worldwide, the group said it has observed keenly the efforts of President Buhari to rehabilitate some vital federal roads in the South East especially the Enugu Port Harcourt Express Road and Onitsha Enugu Express road and other Roads which some South East leaders demanded during the visit to President Buhari late last Year.
“We are satisfied with the attention given to these roads and we urge the federal government to urgently give more attention to Aba-Ikot Ekpene road and Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene roads.
“OYC visited the site of second Niger bridge, and we are also encouraged to say without fear or favour that the level of work in progress may make Ndigbo have a rethink on where their votes will go in 2019.
“The railway network project of ministry of transport should hasten up to link south East which was earlier omitted from the original plan, and warn not to derail in the railway network project of ministry of transport.
“We insist that the only way restructuring can be successful is when an Igbo man is given the opportunity to be the President of Nigeria, no northerner can deceive Ndigbo into Restructuring campaign for Igbo votes in 2019, those who are championing the recent clamour for Restructuring have failed to restructure Igbo land, and their charity begins abroad, We know their sponsors and we know their pay masters and the deceit on Restructuring will crumble before 2019.
“IPOB threat on disruption of RESTRUCTURING EVENT in awka is a threat not to be overlooked or ignored, we know what IPOB did to Igbo leaders during the events of Handshake across Niger and Eastern consultative forum event at Enugu, and ask those behind the event of Awka RESTRUCTURING,to suspend it for the overall interest of Ndigbo.
“There’s no need for we to use restructuring event to massacre Igbo youths even though we may not be sharing the same ideology with IPOB on that note we tell Ndigbo to boycott the Restructuring event at Awka to save our Igbo Youths not to be massacred and avert avoidable death of IPOB members who are mainly Igbo Youths, the event should hold towards end of the year except those behind it have another agenda to retire the dividends from their pay masters from the north.”
